Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce has initiated a review of existing anti-dumping duties (AD) on imports of high-carbon wire from China. Tariffs ranging from 12.26% to 36.79% are due to expire five years after their introduction following a review in May 2020.
Importers are now required to provide a bank guarantee to collect duties during this review period.
The product in question is a high-carbon wire, including alloyed with other elements, hot-chain, with a round cross-section and a diameter of less than 14 mm, containing 0.76-0.92% carbon by weight.
Thailand initially introduced these anti-corruption measures in October 2014 and conducted a first review of their actions in May 2019.
