On June 26, the South Korea Trade Committee finally approved an anti-dumping duty (AD) of 21.62% on stainless steel sheets from China, which will take effect within five years. The decision was based on the determination that China’s dumping practices are causing significant injury to the domestic industry.
AD extends to stainless steel sheet thickness 4.75mm and above and width 600mm and above, which are widely used in various industrial fields such as construction, shipbuilding, power generation, pressure vessels and chemical plants.
The AD duty rate finally approved in this final decision coincides with the provisional duty rate introduced since early March. This AD measure is expected to effectively reduce the volume of dumped Chinese imports.
The corresponding products are classified under CN codes VED 7219.21.1010, 7219.21.1090, 7219.21.9000, 7219.22.1010, 7219.22.1090 and 7219.22.9000.
