According to the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services of Brazil, the country has decided to reduce the import quota for steel products by about 250 thousand. t in the period from June 2025. by May 2026 to protect and support local steel plants. As a result, only 1.43 million tons of imported steel will benefit from low import tariffs (9%-11%).
